This place is like the best place in SF to get customized rice rolls. This place is unlike dim sum restaurant where rice rolls are premade, Joyful Kitchen makes their rice rolls made to order. It's hot, soft and silky. I like to add pork, egg and corn to my rice roll, but it is possible to make other combinations. They have many toppings like pork, beef, corn, veggies, dried shrimp and more that can be added to the rice roll. I like to come here just for their rice roll and their porridge. They also do stir fry noodles, drinks and desserts. It's really a one stop place for a good traditional Chinese family meal.
Things to note about this place: 1. They close from 3-5pm (they need to rest, so don't walk in there at 2:50 expecting to have the best service because they are ready to go on their break). 2. To go orders: they will charge you extra for boxes and bags. I'm not sure how to save money on this part, perhaps bring your own tupperware and bags to save a some change! I dunno! -

Chow Mein with bean sprout and soy sauce $8: hits the spot. very basic dish but growing up on Chinese food, this was just comforting. Nothing out of the ordinary but it was pretty flavorful and the beef was cooked right.
Special Rice Noodle Roll with Pork $4.55 + $1 egg: the rice noodle rolls were really soft and well made. The pork could have used a little bit more flavor as well as the egg. I wish there was more prominent amount of egg, as it was not noticeable in this dish.
Special Rice Noodle Roll with Pork Liver $4.55 + $1 egg + $.50 lettuce: I didn't really tamper with this as I don't eat pork liver and I don't eat veggies, but my friends seem to enjoy it. There seem to be more egg in this dish as well.
Salt & Pepper Chicken wings: pretty good and crispy, I loved the flavors on this. Nothing EXTRAORDINARY but very comforting.

Service was not bad for a Chinese place. I stop expecting too much but they were pretty nice. Food took a while but not ridiculous. CASH preferred here, as they charge extra 10% on your card to cover for card fees.
Honestly expect nothing from the decor. It was very "Chinese Restaurant" sticky tables, asian chairs.
Parking was not bad on a Monday afternoon, I parked on the side in the residential area so it was free parking. -

Cash only to be prepped and brought over!
I haven't had Hong Kong cafe grub food for days and this simply just hits the spot!
Their rice noodle rolls are delicious and so fresh with complimenting squishable bottled sweet soy sauce to go squirt all over it! They have many fillings to choose from and my favorite was the shrimp and beef!
They have the signature stir fried dishes that's superbly bomb and homely! Picture foods on the wall to choose from.
Hong Kong iced milk tea for the refreshing win!
I was in a happy place grubbing and munching! -

Came here for a quick lunch. Always wanted to try this place for their rice noodles and they did not disappoint.
Order:
{Porridge with pork -- w/ no preserves eggs}
{Special rice noodle with scallops and drier shrimp}
{Special rice noodle with pork & egg}
{Flour crisp}
{Iced milk tea}
Simple easy breakfast food. Porridge remained hot, rice rolls were so delicious and you get to add as many sweet soy sauce as you like! Can never go wrong with comfort food, gonna come back to try others!
**TIP**: They condensed the special rice roll portion so #57-59 I believe are for individual protein orders and NOT all together!
